Cookie policy

Cookies are small files a website stores on your device. Similar technologies, such as browser storage, work in much the same way. This policy explains what Remortgage Lab, owned and published by Rodway Labs, uses and why.

How consent is collected

On your first visit to any page, our own consent pop-up, run by Rodway Labs, asks for your choice. It lists the only two purposes we ask consent for:

• store and/or access information on a device; and
• personalised advertising and content, advertising and content measurement, audience research and services development (Google AdSense, our only advertising partner).

You can choose Consent, Do not consent, or Manage options to switch advertising on or off. Advertising is off until you switch it on. Until you choose, and if you choose Do not consent, no Google advertising script loads anywhere on the site and no advertising cookies are set. If you accept, the AdSense tag loads only on pages that carry an ad slot. You do not have to consent to use the calculators or read the guides. Rodway Labs does not collect your location and the site runs no analytics script.

Strictly necessary

These are always on and are not part of the consent choice.

• __cf_bm (Cloudflare cookie, about 30 minutes): set when Cloudflare's bot protection runs, to help keep the site available and secure.
• rl-consent-v2 (browser local storage, not a cookie): remembers your consent choice (whether you allowed advertising, and when) so the pop-up does not ask on every page. It is not sent to us and stays until you change your choice or clear this site's browser storage.

Calculators

The calculators run in your browser. The figures you enter are not saved in cookies or browser storage and are not sent to us; reloading or closing the page clears them. You do not have to accept any cookies to use them.

Analytics

This site runs no analytics script and sets no analytics cookies. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, provides cookieless, aggregated server-side traffic statistics only, which do not identify you.

Advertising (Google AdSense)

Our advertising partner is Google, through Google AdSense. The AdSense tag loads only on pages that carry an ad slot: the home page, guides, the costs and comparisons pages, the calculators and the calculators hub. Glossary, legal and policy pages, about, contact, the editorial policy and the calculator methodology never load it, even after you accept. Until you choose, and if you choose Do not consent, no Google advertising script loads and no advertising cookies are set. Visitors in the UK and EEA are asked for consent before any Google advertising (Google AdSense) cookies or ad scripts load, and you can change your choice at any time with Manage options through the “Privacy preferences” link in the site footer.

If you accept, Google and its partners may set advertising cookies to show ads (which may be personalised) and measure how they perform. Their names and lifetimes are set by Google and vary; see how Google uses cookies and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Changing your choice

Use the “Privacy preferences” link at the bottom of every page to reopen the pop-up and change or withdraw your choice. If you switch from consenting to Do not consent, the page reloads so the Google script is removed. You can also clear this site's browser storage and cookies, after which the pop-up will ask again, or block cookies altogether. Blocking cookies may affect ads but not the calculators. You can manage personalised Google ads at adssettings.google.com.
