Who we are

Remortgage Lab (remortgagelab.co.uk) is owned and published by Rodway Labs (“we”, “us”). Rodway Labs is responsible for how personal data is handled on this site. You can contact us at hello@remortgagelab.co.uk.

What we process

• Calculator inputs: the calculators run entirely in your browser. The figures you enter are not sent to us and are not saved on your device: closing or reloading the page clears them.
• Emails and contact-form messages: we use your name, email address and message only to reply. The contact form passes them through Cloudflare, which hosts the site, and delivers them to our inbox by email. The site doesn't keep a copy. There is no account, newsletter or sign-up.
• Hosting and security: the site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time, to deliver the site and protect it from abuse.
• Advertising: only if you accept advertising in our consent pop-up, and only on pages with an ad slot, Google may process data about your device and visit to show and measure ads (see below).

Advertising partner: Google AdSense

Our advertising partner is Google, through Google AdSense. The AdSense tag loads only on pages that carry an ad slot: the home page, guides, the costs and comparisons pages, the calculators and the calculators hub. Glossary, legal and policy pages, about, contact, the editorial policy and the calculator methodology never load it, even after you accept. On slot pages it loads only after you accept advertising in our consent pop-up.

Display ads from Google AdSense are the site's only source of funding. There are no affiliate links, referral fees or commissions.

If you consent, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads, including ads based on your visits to this and other websites, and to measure how ads perform. In plain terms, and only after you accept advertising:

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
• You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info or, in the UK and Europe, www.youronlinechoices.eu.
• Separately from those industry tools, you can switch advertising off on this site at any time with the “Privacy preferences” link at the bottom of every page. Until you accept, no ads or advertising cookies load here.

How consent is collected

On your first visit to any page, our own consent pop-up, run by Rodway Labs, asks for your choice. It lists the only two purposes we ask consent for:

• store and/or access information on a device; and
• personalised advertising and content, advertising and content measurement, audience research and services development (Google AdSense, our only advertising partner).

You can choose Consent, Do not consent, or Manage options to switch advertising on or off. Advertising is off until you switch it on. Until you choose, and if you choose Do not consent, no Google advertising script loads anywhere on the site and no advertising cookies are set. Visitors in the UK and EEA are asked for consent before any Google advertising (Google AdSense) cookies or ad scripts load, and you can change your choice at any time with Manage options through the “Privacy preferences” link in the site footer. If you accept, the AdSense tag loads only on pages that carry an ad slot. You do not have to consent to use the calculators or read the guides. Rodway Labs does not collect your location and the site runs no analytics script.

Analytics

This site runs no analytics script and sets no analytics cookies. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, gives us cookieless, aggregated server-side traffic statistics only, such as page views and visitor countries, which do not identify you.

What is stored and for how long

• Your consent choice: stored in your browser's local storage as rl-consent-v2 (whether you allowed advertising, and when). It is not a cookie, is not sent to us, and stays until you change your choice or clear this site's browser storage.
• Calculator figures: not stored. Nothing you type into a calculator is saved in cookies or browser storage.
• Security cookies: Cloudflare may set strictly necessary cookies such as __cf_bm (about 30 minutes) when its bot protection runs. These are always on and are not part of the consent choice.
• Google advertising cookies: only if you accept advertising, and only on pages with an ad slot. Their names and lifetimes are set by Google and vary; see how Google uses cookies.
• Emails: kept only as long as needed to deal with your message.

Changing your choice

You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using the “Privacy preferences” link at the bottom of every page, which reopens our consent pop-up. If you switch from consenting to Do not consent, the page reloads so the Google script is removed. You can also clear this site's browser storage and cookies, after which the pop-up will ask again.

Legal bases (UK GDPR)

We rely on legitimate interests to run and secure the site and to reply to emails, and on your consent, given in our pop-up, for non-essential advertising cookies.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you may have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection. Email hello@remortgagelab.co.uk to use them. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
