A lump sum a lender pays you for taking a deal. It reduces net fees. It can be clawed back if you leave early.
The EXAMPLE remortgage path uses £250 cashback. Net fees are product and legal fees minus that cashback. A larger cashback can still lose if an ERC or a higher fee sits beside it.
Read the clawback clause before you treat cashback as yours.
