A charge for taking a particular mortgage deal, also called an arrangement or booking fee. It is separate from interest and from an early repayment charge.
Fee-bearing deals on this site’s EXAMPLE use a £999 product fee inside a £1,499 switch stack. That is a scenario, not a quote. A fee-free deal can still be more expensive if the rate is higher.
Some lenders let you add the fee to the loan. That reduces cash due now and adds interest later. The true-cost calculator has a toggle for that.
